Paula Faris
Paula Faris, an American journalist,
previously worked as an anchor for television at ABC News. Her most well-known
work is her role as co-host of Good Morning America Weekend, from 2014 to 2018,
and host of The View, 2015-2018. She was previously co-anchor of America This
Morning as well as World News Now. After graduating, she worked in several
communications-related jobs including an operations position at Mills/James
Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Due to the lack of opportunities for TV, she took
the position of a radio sales representative. She eventually found work for one
year as a producer assistant at WKEF/WRGT and later occasionally anchor and
report. She was the weekend and weekday sports anchors for WCPO TV, Cincinnati,
from 2002 until 2005. The contract was ended and she became a reporter as well
as an anchor for NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV, Chicago, from November 2005 until
December 2011. In December 2011, it was announced that she had been hired by
the news division of ABC, ABC News. She first made an appearance on ABC News on
World News Now and America This Morning on January 2, 2012. She also was a
fill-in for Good Morning America as well as the correspondent. Then she was
promoted to the New York-based reporter for all ABC News programs. She was not
able to make it to the final show of World News Now or America This Morning.
The show aired on January 22 in 2013. Following the time that Bianna Golodryga
resigned to join Yahoo!, her debut as co-anchor on Good Morning America Weekend
was announced on August 9, 2014. News. ABC announced that she would join The
View as a cohost for season 19. On August 3 in 2016 it was announced they have
renewed her contract for the twentieth season. Season 21 was also renewed, with
her co-hosting duties. She was most visible in the 22nd and 21st seasons of the
series.
