Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares straightforward and simple methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell has also worked at several of the most prestigious restaurants located in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy as well as competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up within New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. After obtaining an English and Communication diploma from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the business of restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great learning experience. It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduating, chef Burrell was in Italy for a year, taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) in Tuscany. In Italy Burrell developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine and its culture. This has had a profound impact on the way that Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to improve the lives of kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of children's diabetes. As a speaker, Burrell travels across the nation to talk about her love of food and her culinary career. Anne said she felt lucky that I could communicate her love of cooking to others.
